Opened in 2013, Atmosphere Kanifushi is located in Lhaviyani Atoll, 30 minutes by seaplane from Male. The resort sits on a long and narrow island stretching over 2 km, with two very distinct Maldivian landscapes : a turquoise lagoon on one side and uninterrupted views of the open ocean on the other, but no house reef.

Atmosphere Kanifushi Villas Review. At a Glance

Built with tranquility in mind, Atmosphere Kanifushi offers 150 Villas and Suites set on the lagoon side. Distances between villas (at least 4 meters apart) ensure some reasonable privacy.

Guests can explore the island via a sandy path connecting both ends, or opt for bicycles and electric shuttles.

The resort proposes four categories of villas, all located on the sunset side of the island.

The Sunset Beach Villas, the entry-level category, are among the largest beachfront villas in the Maldives with 100 sqm of space. They are spread at both ends and in the middle of the island, offering a good balance between location and price.

For families or groups of friends, the Sunset Family Villas combine two interconnected Sunset Beach Villas for a total of 200 sqm.

Travelers seeking extra comfort can choose the Sunset Junior Suites, ideally located on the island’s best stretch of beach, with 132 sqm of space.

Finally, the Sunset Pool Villas are the most exclusive category, featuring 192 sqm, a 30 sqm private pool, butler service, and a secluded location at the far end of the island with breathtaking lagoon views.

Restaurants & Bars at Atmosphere Kanifushi – Quick Review

Dining is one of the highlights of Atmosphere Kanifushi, and no review would be complete without it.

The main restaurant, The Spice, serves buffet meals with live cooking stations and themed nights.

At the island’s edge, Sunset offers à la carte dishes and a Teppanyaki table, while Just Veg, the first pure vegetarian restaurant in the Maldives, delights guests with Mediterranean, Arabic, and Indian cuisine.

For a more relaxed atmosphere, Liquid and Pool Bars serve snacks, cocktails, and premium drinks throughout the day, while the Coffee Shop provides casual bites and refreshments. All these options are included in the Platinum Plus Plan, ensuring variety and quality without extra cost.

Leisure & Activities – Atmosphere Kanifushi

Despite having no snorkeling, leisure is abundant at Atmosphere Kanifushi and adds real value to the all-inclusive plan.

The island itself does not have a house reef. However, Atmosphere Kanifushi includes two daily snorkeling trips to seven top sites in Lhaviyani Atoll. Divers will find a well-equipped PADI center with programs for both beginners and certified divers.
