If you are a long time traveler to the Maldives, you might have stayed at Velassaru.
The name might not ring a bell but yet the island is a long timer in the Maldives Resort landscape.
Previously known as Laguna Beach – now, you see what I am speaking about ! – the island is a renown jewel of what I could call the “Maldives Resorts with best beach and lagoon“.

Located at the northern extremity of South Male Atoll ( South Kaafu Atoll), Laguna Beach closed her legendary doors in 2008 to reopen more beautiful than never in 2009 under the original name of the Island herself : Velassaru.

The new resort, almost unrecognizable ( excepted its unique lagoon ), has been re-lifted in a Minimalist Chic Style.

The resort has now Water Villas on both sides of the island with superbly done contemporary Beach Villas ( 96 sqm).
The delightful new water Villas (112 sqm) with and without private infinity pools were built on the most beautiful side of the island with an impressive big blue and bright lagoon (one of the best I’ve ever seen).

The resort still propose many restaurants (5), up-lifted too (gastronomy, design and atmosphere ) and propose today a wide and fine choice of dining for gourmet.
The 2 bars are perfect to lounge and chill-out with Fen, the lounge bar, on the beach side and its remarkable infinity pool overlooking the blue and Chill on the Sunset side.

Velassaru impresses with her amazing natural surroundings and charms with her new sophisticated looks. Distance from Male Airport : 25 mns by speedboat
