The Dive center "Divers Baros Maldives" is “a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm Diving Center”, operated by its owner and supported by an international team. The entire team of Divers Baros Maldives, under the direct supervision of the Dutch owner Ronny van Dorp and including its own Resident Marine Biologist are not only trained as PADI SCUBA Instructors, but also licensed "EcoDive” Reef Check Instructors.
The Dive Centre belongs to one of the first dive centres opened in the Maldives. High safety standards, diving in small groups and quality diving is the Dive Centres credo.
Highly experienced diving instructors with extensive knowledge of the reefs assist divers and snorkelers.

SNORKELING

Baros Maldives House Reef : the House reef encircling the island is known as one of the best in the Maldives.
Just a few meters from the beach lays the 300 meter long house reef which can be easily reached for divers as well as for snorkelers within 5‐20 meters. and gently slopes down to 20 meters.
Nurse sharks, black and white tip sharks, rays, turtles, large groupers are every day seen habitants at the House Reef. Buddy pairs can benefit from whole day access to the house reef; even night dives can be done straight from the reef.

PAY ATTENTION : As usual, take a moment to discuss with the Dive Center before going to explore the outside walls! Currents can be dangerous and professional advices are gold.

Snorkeling Program :

Snorkeling safari: Discover the beautiful and mysterious underwater world hidden below the surface. Snorkeling from a boat, in great comfort allows you to go further away from the island and be a little more adventurous.
The boat will always drift along with the snorkelers and you can get onboard whenever you like.
There are 2 reefs on this excursion, so you can enjoy different locations and rift effortlessly among the colourful tropical fish teeming around rocky shelf and corals.
Experienced snorkel guide will join you and capture this underwater memory for you with a digital camera.

Night snorkeling: When night falls the sea becomes alive, allowing snorkelers to see many species that cannot be seen during the day. The coral seems much more alive, colourful and softer at night, besides by watching them under your light, you restore their natural colours.
Another interesting thing to observe while night snorkeling is the way the micro marine life glows. Stirring the water in front of you can create this luminescence. The Baros House Reef is a perfect setting to do a night snorkel tour. It is sheltered and thus makes it a delightful and safe experience.

Marine Biology educational snorkeling: A special snorkel tour dedicated to learning and observing about Indian Ocean Marine life.
You will be given a pre-snorkel talk by the Resident Marine Biologist including a slide show presentation, identifying the most common species seen on this tour. Once in the water the Marine Biologist will point out the Marine Life and capture this underwater memory for you with a digital camera. After the tour the Marine Biologist is delighted to show and discuss the pictures to identify the Marine Life.

DIVING

Located in the Southern part of North Male Atoll, one of the most famous Maldivian Atoll for diving , Baros Maldives is ideally placed to access about 30 dive spots, with some, located around the island. The majority of the Atoll main diving spots are within a 50 mins ride by boat. From Baros Maldives, you'll be able to discover many essential areas such as wrecks, top Thilas, a Manta point and to observe large species.
Dive spots are reached on board of a private 15 meters luxury Dhoni. The dives take place in groups of 4 maximum and in private with your own instructor.
