One of the Maldives’ most exclusive resorts is entering a new chapter. The property once known as Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, later transformed into Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, is now preparing for its third rebranding as The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection.
Nestled in the remote Gaafu Alifu Atoll, near the equator, Meradhoo – the name of the island, has always stood apart for its deep tranquility and natural beauty. When it first opened as Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, it captured attention for its ultra-private villas and outstanding house reef, a perfect resort for those seeking true seclusion.
Rebranded as The Halcyon Private Isles, the resort is set to bring a new design vision and creative spirit while preserving the island’s soul.
In 2017, Accor took over management and reinvented the resort under the Raffles flag. The reimagined Raffles Maldives Meradhoo introduced timeless elegance, legendary butler service, and the brand’s signature refined aesthetic.
Its dual-island concept, one for beachfront villas, the other entirely overwater, created a rare sense of space and exclusivity.
Now, under Marriott International, the resort begins another transformation as part of the Autograph Collection.

With this new opening, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives becomes the fifth Marriott property in the Maldives, joining an exceptional collection of luxury resorts already established across the archipelago.
The portfolio includes the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, a design icon in Dhaalu Atoll, the vibrant W Maldives in North Ari Atoll, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa in Shaviyani Atoll and the ultra-modern Ritz-Carlton Maldives, in North Male Atoll.
