At Six Senses Laamu, kids reconnect with the essentials, which is a very important value for me, especially when traveling with my son in the Maldives ( he was regularly there from 2 until 11 years old ).

Six Senses Laamu is one of the best resorts in the Maldives for children and its kids’ club, The Den, is a great one. We went there, and it is one of our favorite kids’ clubs in the Maldives.
Tucked among coconut trees right by the beach, The Den is a professionally managed, complimentary club for younger guests aged 3 to 12. We wandered by a few times (and joined in some fun), it’s safe to say the kids were having an absolute blast!
The setting itself is fantastic : a little compound of whimsically painted huts and play areas on the sand, shaded by coconut palms. There’s a big sandbox, swings, and even a mini splash pool for the little ones to cool off. One afternoon, we saw the Den’s young explorers engaged in a treasure hunt along the beach – tiny footprints zigzagging in the sand, following clues hidden in bottles.
The Den’s activities
The Den’s activity schedule is packed with creativity and island discovery.
Indoor and outdoor games, movie sessions, junior baking classes, arts and crafts – you name it. They even have a “Little Gardeners” activity.
Beach time is of course a staple : the kids club sits right on the sand, supervised, they collect and go snorkeling with an instructor.
For older kids, there’s also the Junior Marine Biology program and a new Sustainability Camp initiative where they learn about zero waste and conservation in fun, interactive ways. It’s not only entertainment, but also an education in caring for nature – which we as parents really appreciate.
During movie night, they even have an outdoor Cinema Under the Stars to watch a family-friendly film, while staff serves popcorn.
What truly stands out is how The Den caters to children’s sense of wonder and adventure. It’s not just a room with video games (in fact, I don’t recall seeing any electronics aside from movie time).
Instead, the kids are out exploring the island, crafting, baking, learning Maldivian songs, Bodu Beru, building sandcastles, and just being kids in this natural paradise. The club even organizes a special Kids’ Night Out dinner once a week, where the young ones have their own fun beach BBQ (so parents can enjoy a quiet meal knowing their kids are partying safely nearby).

Six Senses Laamu Family Villas
Beyond The Den, Six Senses Laamu also offers a refined and luxurious collection of family villas, perfectly blending barefoot elegance with space and privacy.
Tucked into tropical greenery with direct beach access, both the Family Lagoon Beach Villa with Pool and Family Ocean Beach Villa with Pool feature a master bedroom and a dedicated kids’ room—each with en‑suite bathrooms—plus a private pool, tropical garden, and panoramic treetop deck overlooking the lagoon or ocean
For larger families or those seeking an extra degree of seclusion, the Two-Bedroom Ocean Beach Villa with Pool offers two separate beach-facing bedrooms with individual outdoor bathrooms, a shared living/dining area, and a generous 10 m private pool.
The Den operates daily from morning till early evening, and even offers babysitting services after hours (for a fee) if parents want a late-night out.
In summary, The Den at Six Senses Laamu is a child’s dream ( and parents )…come true. It allows kids to immerse themselves in island life through play, while giving parents peace of mind (and some free time to dive or relax).
